The whole of Japan M4 (September 1999)

An M5.4 and an M5.1 earthquake occurred in the Chishima Islands. An M5.1 earthquake occurred in the vicinity of Etorofu Island. An M5.2 deep-focus earthquake occurred northeast offshore of Hokkaido. An M5.0 earthquake occurred in northwestern Chiba Pref. An M5.7 earthquake occurred in the vicinity of Chichijima Island. An M7.7 earthquake occurred in the vicinity of Taiwan and was followed by 8 M6-class aftershocks (per USGS hypocenter). Moreover, an M5.1 earthquake occurred southeast offshore of Taiwan [Taiwan Vicinity]. Also, there were 71 M4 earthquakes in the territory herein considered, and 36 of them were events in the vicinity of Taiwan.
