Hokkaido Region
a) On August 16th and August 20th, there were M5.7 events within the zone of activity of the 1994 earthquake in the sea east of Hokkaido. The August 16th event occurred within the aftershock region of the M6.8 event that occurred on Januray 28th of this year.
b) On August 27th, there was an M4.7 event (maximum seismic intensity 4) in the sea off Urakawa.
c) On August 5th, there was an M7.3 event in central Sakhalin.
