Seismic activity off the Sanriku coast

In Area a, there was an M4.8 event on April 13, and in Area b there were two events of M5.1 and M5.2 on April 26. Also, on April 30, there was an M5.1 in the eastern part of Area b. All of these events occurred within the aftershock region of the 1994 Sanriku Haruka Offshore earthquake.
