Seismic activity in the whole of Japan June 2000 (Magnitude 4 and greater)
There was an M5.4 event in the Chishima archipelago. There was an M6.0 event in northeastern Chiba Prefecture. There was an M5.6 event in the sea near Miyakejima (eight events of M5 or higher; 89 events of M4 or higher). There were two deep events of M6.1 and M6.5 in approximately the same location in the sea off Tokaido. There was an M6.1 event in the sea to the west of Ishikawa Prefecture (six events of M4 or higher). There was an M4.8 event in the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture. There was an M5.9 event in the sea near Tanegashima (three events of M4 or higher). There was an M6.1 event in the sea near Amami Oshima, and an M5.8 event to its west (three events of M4 or higher). There was an M6.2 event near Taiwan.
