Seismic activity in the sea near Torishima (August 6 2000, M7.3, at a depth of 430 km)
On August 6th, there was a deep M7.3 event at a depth of 430 km within the Pacific Plate. On August 20th, 1998, there was a deep M7.1 event with a similar focal mechanism in about the same location.
