Seismic activity in the whole of Japan July 2000 (Magnitude 4 and greater)
There was a deep M5.7 event in the southern Sea of Okhotsk. There were two M5.2 events in the sea off Sanriku (off the coast of Iwate Prefecture and off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture). There was an M5.1 event off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture. There was an M5.0 event in the sea east of the Kanto region, and an M6.0 event off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture. There was an M5.6 event in the sea east of Chiba Prefecture. There was seismic activity including two M6.4 events, one M6.3 event, and one M6.1 event (28 M5.0 or greater events; 368 M4.0 or greater events) in the area from Niijima-Kozushima to Miyakejima. There was a deep M5.2 event in the sea near Torishima. There was a moderately deep M5.2 event in the sea near Chichijima. There were an M6.0 and an M5.0 event in the vicinity of Taiwan.
